Allison’s work has been rather influential for me. So, I have decided to make pictures without people in them. Doing this I realize how naturally I want to make pictures with people in them. But, I want a change. Katrena remarked that she had never seen me take a picture of a flower before while watching me try to make this frame.

The master at work. Garry Winogrand was part of a Bill Moyers TV show back in the day. I remember stumbling across it on TV when I first started taking pictures. I remember him saying “I’m surviving.” when asked what he was doing. I also remembered how he held the camera. In a way I have copied that particular technique from him.
